Let's face it some things require expertise. The thing is if there is something I can do myself, I would rather do it myself. I consider myself a handy guy so if my car needs fixing and I think I can do it. Well then I give it a shot! I have also been fixing our house the past few years. There are plenty of things that I have done, but there are some things that I hired an expert for. There have been a couple of times that I didn't use an expert for the job. I tried to take a shortcut to save money and it didn't work out so well. I am sure we have all learned this hard life lesson.

This week I went and had my teeth cleaned at the dentist. No one in they're right mind would take a sharp tool and try to scratch their own teeth clean. Just as when we are sick or need medical care we all go and see a doctor.

In fact next month I will be having this now famous lump in my forehead removed. Oh, I supposed I could just cut my head open

and pluck it out myself. How silly would that be? (I have offered to help!- RC)

I really enjoyed Brent's lesson on our savior Jesus. It is very comforting to know that Jesus lived on this earth, and suffered trials and temptations like me. I know that He knows exactly what I am going through. I also know that Jesus being the Son of God laid down his life as the perfect sacrifice for my sins. Hebrews 5:9 states that Jesus is the author of our salvation. I don't think there is any question that He is our expert when it comes to saving us from our sins. When we sin it is a blemish on our soul, a stain on our spiritual bodies. If Jesus is the expert that we need to perfect us once again, how silly does it seem to try someone else or our own methods?

Trying to cut open my skin and removing the blemish underneath would not only prove painful but would end in disaster. For one, if I don't get all of it out there is a chance it could just grow back. Worst then that I could cause an infection that could make my entire body sick. Well trusting in something or someone other than Jesus will prove equally disastrous. When it comes to removing the blemish of sins on our soul, we need to leave it our expert Jesus Christ. Trust and obey... and we'll be okay.
