There are no shepherds at this present time. The leaders of our congregation aim to be servants who lovingly teach, protect, and nourish the members of our group as shepherds care for their sheep. Their role requires great wisdom, proven character, and family leadership (1 Timothy 3.1-7, Titus 1.5-9), which demonstrate their ability to guide souls to God. In the Bible, their role is described in several ways, including “elders” (1 Peter 5.1), “overseers” or “bishops” (Philippians 1.1), and “shepherds” or “pastors” (Ephesians 4.11).
“The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those in authority are called benefactors. But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.” – Luke 22:26
