"Mine eyes fail thy word, saying, when wilt thou comfort me?" Psalms 119:82.

I have chosen some verses from Psalm 119 for this week's bulletin. The following verses show the promise of God's comforting help in our troubles, if we remember to go to His Word. The power of God's truth in the heart, mind and soul draws the troubles life of one closer to God, gives help to cope with difficulties,, and helps to put things in a spiritual perspective. Bible reading, prayer, praise and spiritual application before God build greater trust and spiritual peace.

v.25 "My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word." When I feel low, God's truth can lift me up.

v.28 "My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word." Scripture offers relief for my innermost grief.

v.62 "At midnight I will rise to give hanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments." When I cannot sleep, I can always remember to be thankful that God's ways are always right.

v.81 "My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy Word." I must learn to wait patiently on God's timetable, not my own, for His deliverance.

v 83 "For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes." Even when I feel exhausted and used up; my only hope is to cling to God's directions.

v.93 "I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me." God has the power, and I must have the faith that He can pick me up when I am down.

v.107 "I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hash °-quickened me." In the worst of times, I can still rely on the power of Scripture -in my soul.

v.50 "This is the comfort in my affliction, for your Word has given me life." (NKJ) No matter how tired, alone, down or troubled we are. The Psalmist has it right, we have been given life by the grace and mercy of God, and to that I say amen.
