Here's something to think about: the sun
Here's something to think about: the sun. Although we haven't seen much of it this spring, it's always there. It never leaves - it goes nowhere. At night it appears to leave us, but it doesn't. It hasn't gone anywhere. We actually turn around and in the morning we find it's right there again. Sometimes it's hard to see the sun even though it's so bright and powerful. Sometimes there's cloud cover but again it hasn't disappeared! It's right there underneath. Sometimes other things get in the way like rain or snow or sleet. But guess what? That big warm beautiful ball is still there! Even fog can come up and make our vision of the sun difficult. Also eclipses happen and the sun appears to be blotted out. But again, the sun has not budged!

Now let's compare the sun to God our Father. It's just like his love for us - unchanging and constant. Sure, sometimes we have storms in our lives. Sometimes there appears to be REAL cloudy days. It can seem like the rain will never end! But who is right there all the time constantly loving us? God! The problem comes when you forget that God is still there. Focusing on the clouds or the rain or the snow or the fog can make you forget that the sun is still there - unchanging. God loves us always. He sent his only begotten son to save us from our fleshly sin. He is there through ALL the storms and will continue to be. So what do we need to do? We need to remember to focus on the Lord our God and not on the storms of our every day lives.
